Bicycle Transit Systems has entered into an agreement with Trek to acquire BCycle, including all of BCycle's contracts, software, hardware, and future product development.
Bicycle Transit Systems shares BCycle’s mission to change the world with bikes. Founded by bike share pioneer Alison Cohen, the 100% woman-owned, LGBTQ-owned, women-led company is an industry leader focused solely on bike sharing—done smartly. The company has partnered with BCycle for more than a decade in the Philadelphia, Los Angeles, and Las Vegas bike share systems. Bicycle Transit Systems also operates the only full-service bike share customer service center in an additional 15 U.S. systems.
By combining forces, our single unified team will become North America's only vertically integrated docked bike share company. Together, we can now offer a seamless solution for building, installing, and managing docked bike share to help cities and bike share operators nationwide expand mobility options.
Trek is excited to launch BCycle into its next growth stage under Bicycle Transit Systems’ leadership of the Bicycle Transit Systems executive team, including: Founder and Chair Alison Cohen, CEO Kristin Gavin-Wisniewski, COO Ian Smith, and CFO Gloria Shabazz. Brian Conger will continue to oversee BCycle-owned bike share systems and Independent Operator relationships as the Chief Business Officer. Caitlin O’Connell will join the leadership team as Product Director. Rob Aubey is being promoted to serve as the Director of TechOps and Supply Chain to support all frontlines operations. Helen Bradley will be taking on a new role as Director of Business Development.
